P2040173 (Large)As students returned to school in the warmth of the summer sun earlier this month, one of the most inspirational expeditions of modern times was unfolding in the mighty Southern Ocean and frozen interior of South Georgia Island, Antarctica. Australian/British adventurer Tim Jarvis AM and his Shackleton Epic crew attempted to become the first in the world to recreate Sir Ernest Shackleton’s historic ‘double’ expedition to save 28 of his men stranded on the Endurance on an ice floe in Antarctica in 1914-1916.
