Fauna & Flora International
"The men who were staying behind… waved to us, and gave three hearty cheers.  There was hope in their hearts and they trusted us to bring the help that they needed."

(From South: Sir Ernest Shackleton)

Fauna & Flora International (FFI) protects threatened species and ecosystems worldwide, choosing solutions that are sustainable, based on sound science that take account of human needs. Operating in more than 40 countries worldwide – mainly in the developing world – FFI saves species from extinction and habitats from destruction, while improving the livelihoods of local people.

Founded in 1903, FFI is the world’s longest established international conservation body and is a registered charity. The Patron is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and Sir David Attenborough, Professor David Bellamy, Dame Judi Dench, Stephen Fry and Rove McManus are among its Vice Presidents.  In Australia its Board includes the MD of Merrill Lynch International, the MD of Deutsche Bank, and the former MD of the Goldman Sachs Group.

As Shackleton Epic’s conservation partner, FFI will benefit from funds raised through the expedition which will support the charity’s vital work to protect some of the most vulnerable ecosystems and species on the planet.
